Thailand: what we did on our holiday

We went to a temple and saw a really big Buddha.

We cradled a sleeping tiger in our laps.

We rode an elephant.

We snorkelled and canoed with lots of fish.

I went to a Thai cooking class, and we both ate plenty of Thai food.

And we went to a wedding which involved a procession of dancing drummers.

I'm *still* jealous of the tiger visit! The food looks great, by the way :)

We are going there in July! Where did you do the cooking classes? Apart from the tigers and elephants, which are already on our list, what else would you recommend?

Hey Sarah! I was just thinking about everyone at Health the other day, hope you're all well.

We did the cooking class in Phuket, at the Phuket Thai Cooking School, but there's at least one in the same area as the tiger temple (a few hours north of Bangkok).

In the same area, we also visited the River Kwai war memorials and Hellfire Pass, which is confronting but worthwhile.

The Phuket snorkelling was fantastic; we also went canoeing through reef-formed caves - it takes a long time to get out there on the boat, but is good once you arrive.

You definitely have to eat off the street-stalls, best food in Thailand (only one of the six of us had food poisoning and that was after eating at a fancy Western-style restaurant...). Pad thai and sticky rice with mango.

Bangkok has the temple/palace region for cultural stuff, plus there is a big Saturday market for the shopping side of things (as well as loads of huge department stores).

Hope this helps, have a great trip.

Thanks!
We are going to both Bangkok and Phuket so that's great.
Can't wait!

Oh - and yes we are all well ;-)

Although the DG was forced to step down after dealings with Brian Burke.

Trish is back working at Royal St in aged care, not sure what Michelle is doing - last she told me was that she was resigning to do sopmething great - but she hadn't worked out the something.
